planning a trip to jibhi
here's the honest version: jibhi is small and easy to do on your own. you don't really need a packaged tour. but you do need a plan, so here are three itineraries, a realistic budget, and what to book before you come.
looking for a jibhi tour package?
most "jibhi packages" you'll find online are really just a cab plus a stay plus a markup. for a trip this simple, you can usually do better booking the pieces yourself: a bus or shared taxi in, a homestay direct on whatsapp, and local cabs for the day trips.
the exception is if you're short on time, travelling with family, or want zero logistics. then a small local operator is worth it. ask your homestay, they almost always arrange day trips and pickups.

three itineraries that work
the long weekend
3 days · best from delhi or chandigarh
- day 1: overnight journey in, settle into your stay, the village walk, an afternoon at a cafe.
- day 2: early drive to jalori pass, walk to serolsar lake, the jibhi waterfall in the evening.
- day 3: mini thailand in the morning, slow lunch by the river, head back.
the proper week
5-6 days · for people who actually want to slow down
- days 1-2: arrive, settle, the village, the waterfall, cafe-hopping. no rush.
- day 3: jalori pass + serolsar lake, lunch at the top.
- day 4: chehni kothi tower, then trout fishing or a riverside afternoon.
- day 5: mini thailand + a longer GHNP forest walk.
- day 6: a day with no plan at all, then leave the next morning.
jibhi + tirthan combo
5 days · two valleys, one trip
- days 1-2: jibhi: village, waterfall, jalori pass, cafes.
- day 3: shift to the tirthan side (gushaini), riverside stay.
- days 4-5: GHNP walks, fishing, the slow tirthan pace, then out.
a realistic budget
rough per-person cost for a 3-day trip from delhi. scale it for a longer stay. you can do jibhi on a shoestring or in real comfort, the gap is mostly the stay.
| what | shoestring | comfortable |
|---|---|---|
| travel (return, ex-delhi) | ₹3,000 | ₹6,000 |
| stay (2 nights) | ₹2,000 | ₹12,000 |
| food (3 days) | ₹1,500 | ₹3,500 |
| local cabs + day trips | ₹1,500 | ₹3,500 |
| rough total | ₹8,000 | ₹25,000 |
what to actually book in advance
- your stay, the only thing that really sells out. book 4-8 weeks ahead in season. see where to stay.
- the journey in, overnight volvo seats and flights to bhuntar both go early. see how to reach jibhi.
- nothing else, day trips, cabs, fishing permits and treks can all be sorted once you're there, usually through your homestay.
